METAL BARNDOMINIUMS
The “Barndominiums” are very energy efficient, with a 30-year warranty on the building kit itself, they are predesigned engineered red iron bolt together building kits. The building can withstand up to 150 mph winds and we have had no complaints even considering the unusual weather in Louisiana. They are a great bang for your buck and low maintenance.
Building time generally takes the same amount of time as a regular house. It varies depending on how fast the building kit can get to us. If we can get the kit within a few weeks of ordering, then we can knock almost a month off. We have had some we waited 6 weeks for due to the building manufacturer being overloaded. Interiors can be customized just like any other stick-built house but you are somewhat limited on the exterior. We can put stone, stucco and brick on the structures (this will increase cost but not substantially). We can also install woodwork on the outside including wood porch ceilings and cedar wrapped columns. We were asked to take on this type of building a few years ago and since then it has been remarkable. As the market increases, we expect to see more and more and the value in these homes only grow. |
CONSTRUCTION PROCESS
PRE-CONSTRUCTION
First, we meet with the client to determine where in the process they are of defining the project. Next, we find out what their objectives are for Pre-Construction and what questions and issues will need to be resolved. We often are consulted even before an architect is engaged and love to be involved throughout the design process. Architects often bring us onto their team early in the process so that we can work together on realistic budgets in the design phase.

CHOOSING YOUR BUILDER
Building a new home or remodeling your current home is one of the most expensive and unique endeavors most people will make in their lifetime. It is also one of the most personal purchases a homeowner will embark on. That makes it even more imperative that you choose a builder that is an accomplished craftsman and of high integrity. A critical component of building a home is finding a builder that is skilled at managing the team of subcontractors required to build a high-quality house.
